Volunteer eBay Assistant

To assist in the day-to day-running of the eBay shop at Victoria Road, Scarborough to help Saint Catherine’s Hospice generate the income to provide services and care to patients with life limiting illness, and to support their families and carer’s.

Tasks within this role will be varied and flexible to suit the skillset of the volunteer but will include:

  • Researching and identifying appropriate items for sale on our eBay store.
  • Packing and posting customer parcels.
  • Customer service skills including dealing with questions and queries.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Working with other retail staff and volunteers.
  • To assist in the preparation of donated goods for eBay.
  • Taking photos of items to be listed.
  • Listing items up on eBay shop (writing item description and condition).
  • Assisting with general housekeeping.
  • Good IT skills.

Volunteer Van Driver

The purpose of the role is to assist the Van Driver to collect and deliver donated items and furniture from customers to our shops. Tasks within this role will be varied and flexible to suit the skillset of the volunteer but will include:

  • Assisting the driver with the loading and unloading of the van.
  • Working with the delivery and collection team to ensure that all items are collected safely.
  • Communicating with customers when collecting and delivering goods to meet service standards and customer expectations.
  • To assist with the delivery of items to customers as required.
  • Collect and sort waste for disposal at local recycling points.
  • Moving stock around shops.
  • Collecting donations to bring back to the sorting centre.
  • Delivering sorted stock to shops.

No experience is necessary, however there will be manual handling and heavy lifting.
