Dying Matters Week 2021

May 10th 2021

This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week (May 10-16) which is aimed at encouraging open conversations around death and dying.

This year’s theme is making sure people are ‘in a good place’ when they die.

At Saint Catherine’s, we do everything we can to ensure people’s wishes are met at the end of life. Whether our patients are in the hospice or at home, everyone is looked after as an individual.

Here is some recent feedback which shows the importance of being ‘in a good place’:

“Care was given with such compassion, patience and empathy, providing to our family to feel at ease knowing mum was looked after. A respite from weeks of worry. Thank you also for the support and dedication given in arranging for mum to return home.”

“After the last 10 months of hardly being able to see mum, we both treasure the times we were able to visit during her last month, to talk and to hold her hand.”

“Every detail of care provided was so well done with such gentleness and compassion that I can hardly find the words to say how much it meant to us all.”
