Meet the Volunteer Department
Meet the Volunteer Services Team
Our Volunteer Services Team are now in action! Meet Davina Taylor and Debbie Hilton. Davina is a familiar face at the hospice. She joined Saint Catherine’s in 2010 as a Relief Shop Manager she then took over the Pickering Shop. ‘‘I have been in my new role as Volunteer Services Administrator for around a month now. I am really enjoying it. I love getting to speak to so many volunteers on a daily basis. Hearing their stories is so lovely. My job is to check through volunteer rotas and ensure all shifts are covered. I also update volunteer files and potential volunteer enquiries.’’ Fun Fact: Davina has four rescued ex battery hens called Lola, Lorna, Peggy and Doreen! Debbie is our new Volunteer Services Manager. She started at the beginning of July. ‘‘I used to work at Scarborough TEC as Head of Business Development. I worked there for 20 years! I was really excited about this role as I was looking to get back into a people centred job. I am a people person and I know this kind of role will get the best out of me. I have lots to get on with over my first few months and I am really looking forward to working with the volunteers to make sure that Saint Catherine’s is first choice for volunteering in Scarborough and the surrounding areas.’’
Fun Fact: Keep an eye on Debbie’s feet… she has been known to turn up to work in odd shoes!
