Bridlington Shop celebrates it's anniversary
Saint Catherine’s Bridlington Shop celebrates its first anniversary!
Last week Saint Catherine’s Bridlington shop celebrated its first anniversary since it reopened last year. Shop manager Debbie Rhodes and her team of volunteer gathered on Saturday with cake and balloons to mark the occasion.
Debbie Rhodes says “Working this past year as Manager of the Bridlington Saint Catherine’s shop has really opened my eyes to what goes on behind the scenes in a charity shop. There’s such a lot to do and it’s very exciting to see what our donation bags hold, we are amazed at what generous gifts we receive.’’
The income of Saint Catherine’s charity shops makes up over ¼ of their fundraising requirement each year thanks to the fantastic support from their customers and donors.
Saint Catherine’s charity shops rely on their hard working and dedicated volunteers. Glady’s Wathey volunteers at the Bridlington Shop “I was looking for something different to do in my otherwise busy week and as I walked past Saint Catherine’s shop I saw a notice asking for volunteers. Seven years earlier my brother-in-law had received amazing care from his local hospice which helped not only him but all the family. It is great to give back to my local hospice. I look forward to my time each week, meeting not only other volunteers but so many people who come through the door to have a chat and find a bargain, it’s a lovely atmosphere to work in.’’
Saint Catherine’s Bridlington shop are always looking for new volunteers to join their friendly team. If you have some spare time, join their happy team or help them by providing those very important donations. Call into the shop and speak to Debbie or call on 01262 606894.
