Success for Lynne and Sarah


On behalf of all at Saint Catherine’s we would like to congratulate Lynne Symonds, Head of In-Care Services and Sarah Locker, Head of Community Care Services who have successfully been appointed as Joint Registered Managers for Saint Catherine's.

According to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) all providers (such as Saint Catherine's) must have a registered manager for each regulated activity they perform. The registered managers are legally responsible and accountable for compliance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. In order to become a registered manager the CQC carry out an assessment of fitness to be a registered manager which assesses the extent to which they have the skills and qualifications for the role. Lynne and Sarah had to undertake the gruelling assessment process which included a 2 hour 'Fit Person' interview, satisfactory references and a thorough assessment of their qualifications, and professional development. They passed with flying colours.

Lynne and Sarah have a wealth of experience between them and together have been registered nurses for a total of 58 years!  They have worked at Saint Catherine’s for a number of years, Sarah for 12 years and Lynne for a huge 22 years. Sarah has mostly worked within community settings, within elderly care, chronic disease management and palliative care. Lynne has mostly worked within palliative care and inpatient acute care settings. Both are very excited for their new role!
