Saint Catherine’s to Celebrate Hospice Care Week

Because Hospice Care Is More Than You Think

This week, Saint Catherine’s stands proudly alongside more than 200 hospices across the UK to mark Hospice Care Week 2025.

While hospices are often associated with clinical care in a ward or inpatient setting, this special week highlights the many ways Saint Catherine’s goes beyond that. From our Wellbeing services to our Clinical Pods, we provide a wide range of support for patients, families, and the wider community, extending care well beyond end-of-life.

To mark Hospice Care Week, we want to share with you the other services we offer beyond our Castle Suite (In-Patient Unit)

• Monday Matters – Every Monday from 10am to 12pm. An informal drop-in service where you can access advice and support on health and social care matters for you and people you support.
• Cancer Wellbeing Cafe – Every Monday from 1pm to 3pm. A drop-in session for anyone affected by cancer to access peer support, practical advice, and fun and creative activities.
• Day Haven Service – A welcoming, friendly place to rest, recharge, and connect with others through creativity and conversation.(£60 charge)
• Wellness Programme – A six-week course blending education, therapeutic activities, and social connections for anyone with a life limiting illness to help you live as well as possible with your condition.
• Bereavement Support Group – To help you through the grieving process with understanding and care. Running the first and third Thursday of every month.
• Bathing Service – A calm, relaxing and dignified bathing service in our luxury therapeutic spa bath (£35 charge).
• Digital Drop-in – Every Thursday from 1:30 to 4pm. Where you can access support to get on-line, build confidence using technology, and stay connected.

Hospice Care Week 2025 is a moment for us to celebrate the full breadth of what hospice care really is — to share inspiring stories, to deepen connections with our community, and to lift the curtain on services people might not always see.

Because hospice care is more than you think — and this week, we hope everyone will see just how transformative it can be.
