Scarborough mum, 28, braves the shave!

May 11th 2020

A Scarborough mum has taken her lockdown ‘home haircut’ to the extreme to raise funds for patient care at Saint Catherine’s.

Chloe Hall, of Flixton, decided to let her children and husband shave her head in a bid to raise £500 for Saint Catherine’s – but the current total now stands at over £700.

Full-time-mum Chloe, 28, said: “Saint Catherine’s is a charity close to home as I have seen first-hand the services they provide for people in need. My grandad sadly spent weeks in there but we couldn’t have asked for better services.

“The nurses were great, very accommodating for all the family who obviously wanted to be by his side all day and night. Given the current circumstances, I believe local charities are struggling to raise funds and I would love to help in any way I can.”

Before the head shave, Chloe divided her hair into pigtails and her children, Logan, Lacie and Lakelan, and her husband Zack, all took turns to cut one off. They all had a go with the clippers and it was Zack’s job to finish off the ‘home haircut’.

Chloe said: “It hasn’t affected me at all – I feel free. I didn’t like my hair anyway! The reaction from friends and family has been very supportive. They all say it suits me and it’s for a good cause.”

Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager at Saint Catherine’s, said: “A huge thank you to Chloe from all of us here. She has been so brave and we think she looks fabulous!

“Chloe is definitely one of our stay-at-home heroes, showing that you can still raise funds and help others – even in lockdown.”
