Volunteer eBay Assistant

Volunteers are vital to the success of Saint Catherine’s, without them we would be unable to offer the high level of service to our patients and their families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in joining our team.

Role Outline

To assist in the day-to day-running of the eBay shop at Victoria Road, Scarborough to help Saint Catherine’s Hospice generate the income to provide services and care to patients with life limiting illness, and to support their families and carer’s.

Tasks within this role will be varied and flexible to suit the skillset of the volunteer but will include:

• Researching and identifying appropriate items for sale on our eBay store.
• Packing and posting customer parcels.
• Customer service skills including dealing with questions and queries.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Working with other retail staff and volunteers.
• To assist in the preparation of donated goods for eBay.
• Taking photos of items to be listed.
• Listing items up on eBay shop (writing item description and condition).
• Assisting with general housekeeping.
• Good IT skills.

How we will help you

This role will work closely with members of the Retail team who will provide you with guidance and support.

Commitment

We are flexible to suit the volunteer, but we require a commitment of a few hours one day per week (minimum).

All volunteering requires a level of commitment in time and motivation. This role also requires:

• Willingness to undertake varied duties.
• Trustworthiness.
