Volunteers are vital to the success of Saint Catherine’s without them, we would be unable to offer the high level of service to our patients and their families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in joining our team.

Role Outline

The purpose of the role is to assist the Van Driver to collect and deliver donated items and furniture from customers to our shops. Tasks within this role will be varied and flexible to suit the skillset of the volunteer but will include:

• Assisting the driver with the loading and unloading of the van.
• Working with the delivery and collection team to ensure that all items are collected safely.
• Communicating with customers when collecting and delivering goods to meet service standards and customer expectations.
• To assist with the delivery of items to customers as required.
• Collect and sort waste for disposal at local recycling points.
• Moving stock around shops.
• Collecting donations to bring back to the sorting centre.
• Delivering sorted stock to shops.

No experience is necessary, however there will be manual handling and heavy lifting.

How we will help you This role will work closely with members of the Retail team who will provide you with guidance and support.

Commitment

We are flexible to suit the volunteer, but we require a commitment of one day per week (minimum). Wednesday and or Thursday 8.30 a.m.  – 4.00 p.m.

All volunteering requires a level of commitment in time and motivation. This role also requires:

• Confidentiality.
• A passion for the charity.
