Special Date Night Creates Precious Memories

Special Date Night Brings Patients and Loved Ones Together

Patients and their loved ones enjoyed an unforgettable evening of pizza, music and togetherness at Saint Catherine’s

Patients and their loved ones enjoyed a special evening together recently as Saint Catherine’s transformed part of its In-Patient Unit into a restaurant for a unique Date Night experience. The evening was organised by Activities Coordinator Marie, with the aim of creating an opportunity for patients and families to spend quality time together and make precious memories.

Guests were treated to a full restaurant experience, complete with table service, live music and freshly cooked pizzas made to order. Patients were able to choose their own toppings before the pizzas were cooked and served, adding a personal touch to the evening.

The atmosphere throughout the unit was filled with laughter, conversation and music as patients, families, staff and volunteers came together to enjoy the occasion.

A special moment together

One couple shared their appreciation afterwards, saying:

“We haven’t been able to go out together for a meal for such a long time and this has been so lovely.”

Reflecting on the evening, Marie said:

“This is what it’s all about – making memories.”

The event was made possible thanks to the support of colleagues and volunteers across the hospice. Special thanks go to Paul for cooking the pizzas, Rob for providing live music throughout the evening, Esther and her daughter for helping to serve food and drinks, Jodi and Jez for decorating the venue, and the kitchen team for their support with organising supplies.

At Saint Catherine’s, creating moments of joy, connection and normality can make a huge difference to patients and their families. The Date Night was a wonderful example of how small moments can become lasting memories.
