Part-time (to have a small adult client caseload)
Saint Catherine’s Hospice is seeking applications from suitably qualified counsellors to fill several volunteer vacancies in its Bereavement Support Service. This will be an excellent opportunity for individuals keen to use their training and interest in serving the community in the field of hospice/palliative care.
The role will involve working with bereaved family members of deceased patients of Saint Catherine’s mainly at our on-site facilities, in the community through home visits, and at sites in Whitby and Ryedale.
Suitable applicants will be provided with free in-service training opportunities (in addition to training mandatory for all staff at Saint Catherine’s), free professional supervision, and reimbursement for use of vehicle expenses.
The suitable applicant will be able to volunteer flexible hours in order to accommodate patients and clients availability and home visits. This flexibility will also make it possible for a suitable applicant outside Scarborough (requiring a commute) to apply.
More information is provided in the Person Specifications for this role.
You will need to complete a volunteer application form and respond to the Person Specifications. Suitable applicants will be invited to an interview to discuss the role in more detail.
