At Saint Catherine’s we are doing everything we can to keep our patients, families, staff , volunteers and supporters safe at this difficult time.
Our key clinical services are still running, which means that patients are still being cared for in the hospice and at home.
However, in line with Government guidance and with safety paramount, we have taken the decision to reduce some face-to-face services and restrict visitors on site. Also, our hospice shops will be closed for the time being and we have postponed all of our fundraising events that were planned during the next few months.
Every decision being made is in the best interests of our patients, families, volunteers and staff.
We need your continued support and help more than ever as we continue to pay and support all our members of staff – we appreciate every donation, every message and every offer of support.

New Look’s festive discount for hospice supporters

December 2nd 2019

Saint Catherine’s is teaming up with fashion retailer New Look this Christmas to offer Scarborough and Bridlington shoppers an extra big thank you for supporting the charity.

Following a successful pilot in the summer, New Look is launching a new customer discount initiative to support hospice care by encouraging more people to donate clothing to their local hospice shops, and the Saint Catherine’s charity shops in Falsgrave, Scarborough, and Cross Street, Bridlington, are among the shops taking part.

The high street store will be offering a 20% discount voucher to anyone who drops in a full bag of clothing at either of these hospice shops before January 13. The shops are among over 200 taking part in the programme across the UK.

Under the scheme, running in partnership with national hospice and end of life care charity Hospice UK, donors will receive a voucher which they will be able to spend in store at New Look.

Nigel Oddy, chief executive officer, New Look, said: “As a company, we really care about being kind to our people and to our planet, therefore we want to make it easy for our customers to recycle their unwanted clothes whilst helping to reduce the amount of clothing waste that ends up in landfill.

“New Look is very excited about this partnership with Hospice UK to encourage our customers to donate their once-loved clothes to their local hospice shop.”

Meghan Booth, business development manager, Hospice UK, said: “It is wonderful to have such a well-recognised brand as New Look working in partnership with us. Their support makes such a big difference in helping to increase public awareness about the care available to people with life-limiting conditions and their families.”

Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager at Saint Catherine’s, said: “It’s wonderful working with New Look on this project. We’re so grateful for all the support we get from our local community – this scheme lets them help us and get an even better deal from their local branch of New Look.”
