Host a Fundraiser

Have fun raising funds

When it comes to fundraising the possibilities are almost endless!

You can be as creative as you like with crazy new ideas – the sky is the limit or you can go down a well trodden path to success and keep it simple – whatever works for you and feels like FUN!

Choosing an Idea

What interests you and your group of fundraisers? What are you good at? What would inspire or even shock people who know you? What locations and venues could you use? All these questions can influence your choice of fundraising activity.

If you are struggling, here are a few suggestions…

Arts and crafts fair, art exhibition, auction, balloon race, barbecue, book sale, bad hair day, baked bean bath, cheese and wine party, cake sale, disco, duck race, dinner dance, Easter egg hunt, fashion show, football match, film festival, garage sale, golf tournament, Halloween party, jumble sale, make up demonstration, murder mystery evening, pet show, ploughing competition, raffle, raft race, shave your head, wine tasting, wedding favours.

When you have decided on your challenge or event please contact Saint Catherine’s fundraising on 01723 378406.

Top Tips

  • Plan and prepare well – if everything is in order then your event will run smoothly and you’ll get to enjoy it too!
  • Have some contingency plans in case something crops up – if you think about possible pitfalls then you’ll be ready for them if they happen. Our team can help too as there aren’t many events we haven’t been involved in, so can use our experience to guide you.
  • Shout about it – tell everyone. Word of mouth, social media, local newspaper or radio stations are often happy to have stories, posters, flyers, banners – anything you can think of to promote your event will be important of you’re looking for people to come along and support you
  • Sponsorship – can you get some of the costs covered for things and then more of what you raise can come directly to Saint Catherine’s. People will often donate gifts in kind to help if they don’t have cash to give.
  • Talk to your employer – in case they would like to help or they might have a matched giving scheme for what you raise.
  • Think about all the different ways people can give you money – there are online platforms that can take payment or sponsorships as well as good old-fashioned pen and paper and cash.

Can donations be gift aided? Our team can talk you through how this works as well to make sure you’re maximising the income!

Don’t forget the thank you’s after your event 😊

We are here to help you and offer support along the way. Please call us on 01723 378406 and we will be happy to help.
